International research

There are currently 5 international studies and research running on our OFTEX eye clinic. The criteria for all of the studies is that the participant has to be above the age of 18 and also the attendance in past clinical studies of the eye.

MYLAN – diabetic retinopathy

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency and safety of the MYL-1701P medication and Eyley in patients with diabetic macular edema. We focus on patients with diabetes mellitus I a II with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema. The duration is 52 weeks.

APELLIS – VPMD stage of geographic atrophy (phase III)

In this study we test the APL-2 medicine on patients suffering from geographic atrophy caused by aging and macular degeneration evaluated by the changing of lesion of the geographic atrophy measured by autofluorescence. The duration is 30 weeks.

ALLERGAN – open angle glaucoma and heightened ocular hypertension

In this study we focus on the effectivity and duration of Bimatoprost SR in patients with open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It is studying patients with glaucoma and ocular hypertension with the pressure above 22 torr without previous treatment. The duration is 30 months.

LT4032-301 – open angle glaucoma and treated heightened ocular hypertension

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectivity of Lumigan without preservatives and its side effects. It examines glaucoma and heightened ocular hypertension patients. Patients need to be treated for 6 months and their ocular pressure can't be higher than 18 torr.


The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of cyclosporine in the treatment of the dry eye in patients suffering from this syndrome who are above the stage 3 on the Oxford scale of coloration.
